Original 1898 cheque drawn by August Belmont & Co. on Rothschild Frères, Paris, dated November 1st, 1898. Features blue and red ink detailing, ornate engraving, and the Rothschild coat of arms at left. Issued for 492.25 Francs and stamped ‘PAID’. August Belmont, a leading U.S. banker, served as the Rothschilds’ New York agent. Excellent cross-Atlantic banking collectible.
