Finely engraved bank cheque issued in New York by August Belmont & Co., drawn on the Parisian bankers Rothschild Frères. Dated September 6th, 1898, and made payable to Mrs. Josephine M. Wiesländer for 518.75 Francs. Features the Rothschild family crest at left and a French fiscal handstamp. Beautiful bilingual design reflecting 19th-century transatlantic finance between the U.S. and France.
