Description

Elegant commercial bill of exchange issued in Rome on 10 September 1881 by Banca Gerassi (Gerassi & Cie), payable to the order of Rothschild Frères, Paris, for 10 500 francs. Printed on Italian stamped fiscal paper featuring the ornate “Vincit qui se vincit” cartouche. Multiple handwritten endorsements and bank stamps, including Long & Cie, Chambéry, showing its journey through French clearing channels.

A fine piece of Franco-Italian financial history, illustrating the network of Mediterranean bankers and Rothschild correspondents in the late 19th century. Excellent engraving and clear manuscript signatures
