Beautifully engraved Austrian-Hungarian Bank mortgage bond (Pfandbrief) issued in Vienna on April 1, 1893. Denominated at 5000 Gulden in Austrian currency, bearing 4per cent annual interest. Features a portrait of a crowned allegorical female figure and ornate border design. The Pfandbrief was a secured debt instrument issued by the Austro-Hungarian Bank, one of the most important central institutions of the Dual Monarchy. Highly collectible for its historical and financial significance.
