Description

Rare and visually attractive third of exchange issued by C.H. de Lemos in Ciudad Bolívar, Venezuela, dated 1895, for the amount of £250 Sterling. This financial instrument was payable to a firm in London and drawn against the earlier two parts of a triplicate set. The ornate border and typography are characteristic of the late 19th century commercial documents, featuring a rich design with classical flourishes and a printed side panel noting the issuing entity.

Embossed and stamped by Riensch & Held, Hamburg and countersigned, this bill provides insight into international trade practices and credit systems of the period.
