Lot 24:
Description
Historic commercial bill of exchange issued on March 27, 1847, from St. John, the English name used historically for San Juan, Puerto Rico. This financial document was drawn in pounds sterling (£150) to be paid in London through Thibaut Larion Brothers & Co. It reflects the international trade and commercial ties between the Caribbean and Europe during the mid-19th century. Signed by “Maguiley”, this rare pre-U.S. annexation Puerto Rican document is an exceptional collectible for those interested in Caribbean economic history and early financial instruments.
