Lot 186:
Description
Rare and visually striking French railway share certificate issued by the Société du Chemin de Fer de Damas-Hamah et Prolongements. Printed in red with Arabic and French text, this bearer share represents a capital of 3,000 Francs and was part of an ambitious rail infrastructure project connecting Damascus and Hama in Syria under French mandate administration. Features official tax stamps and validation markings including “Banque Belgo-Libanaise Beyrouth.” A beautiful piece of colonial-era railway finance history and a highlight for collectors of Middle Eastern or French scripophily.
