Paper money, Bonds and Shares
Lot 374:
Description
This bearer bond issued by Banca Ungaro-Italiana in Budapest, Hungary represents a loan of 100 USD under a $2 million municipal bond program. The beautiful aquamarine border and dual-language text reflect the cosmopolitan nature of Central European finance during the interwar years. These instruments were marketed across Europe and the US, indicative of Hungary’s foreign borrowing efforts. A rare and well-preserved artifact of international finance from the post-Austro-Hungarian era.
