# 151 Singapore Bill of Exchange; scarce document from from of the oldest companies in Singapore. Aslagoff & Co was formally incorporated in 1848. The Alsagoffs, of Persian origin, after coming to Singapore in 1824 quickly became one of the most prominent families in Singapore, marrying into royalty in the region, and came to own large swathes of property in Singapore and the surrounding region.
